Bitachon Or Hishtadlus (03) Who You Really Are
Length: 48 min
Details
Based on the writings of Rav Chaim Cohen, the Chalban, Tallelei Chaim, Sefer Bereishis, P. 528. How does one acquire a midah tovah (positive character trait), rather than just dabble in it. Investigating our motives at a deeper level - what exactly caused me to engage in a particular mitzvah / good deed or any acttion in my life? If nobody ever disagrees with a person, it's easy to have a calm demeanor and not get angry. Even a negative midah can be rooted in a good and holy place. The trap of incorrectly identifying oneself as a bad person with poor midos. Laid back sounds nice, but could mean a person does not care at all. It's bad to lie to other people, but it's much worse to lie to oneself. How strong is a person's emunah (faith) when things suddently take a turn for the worse? Is he still living WITH Hashem? Investing in Hashem means investing in oneself.
